" ... May I have an opening bid on scrod cod?"

BASE...shatters the old auction perceptions. With the push of a computer key, each person has the ability to purchase only as much product as needed or wanted on a daily basis. Anyone participating in the "Electronic Auction" will have easy access to view the product at various offloading facilities connected to BASE. The system was designed as a multi-location electronic marketplace. It connects distant buyers and sellers through sophisticated telecommunications to promote fair market value.

BASE consists of a central computer server with database and software designed to integrate individual PC's with a modem to access the central computer via electronic connections. Each individual PC connected to the central server is considered a location within the system. Sales information for each transaction is easily accessible for accounting throughout the central computer. The system is designed to handle an unlimited number of buyers and sellers.

The system is centralized, handling buyers and sellers for all locations connected to BASE. Boats unload daily at designated offloading facilities. The products are immediately inventoried and entered into the central computer. All pertinent information with regard to buying and selling is included in this telecommunications system. For example, each location has the ability to access the central server for specific information including total landings by port, names of vessels that landed, species and weight.

The "Electronic Auction" is conducted by a professional auctioneer located at BASE. Products are auctioned according to total landings by port, names of the vessels that landed, species and weight. Every buyer and seller participating in that auction will access the central computer via individual PC at their location. The accounting software within the electronic auction system tabulates the bids and selects the highest bidder. It will also handle invoicing and payments.

Each seller receives a check for products sold.

Each buyer receives an invoice for products

* Buyers and sellers connected to the electronic auction are charged a minimal handling fee.

BASE was designed to obtain for you the fairest true market valie of your product, for a buyer as well as a seller. No sub-contract sales are allowed. Each transaction is performed by the BASE professional team of unloaders, auctioneers and dispatchers.
